Back Story - probably should have been the first entry

  Getting to know me. Probably in the grand scheme of things this should have been the first one I posted. but hindsight is a wonderful thing. but to be honest I was not looking to blog anything until after the first session. so who am I? I am currently 31 years of age, married with 2 children 1 aged 6 and 1 Aged 4. The 6 year old is my Daughter and 4 year old is my son, who will appear in the blog as he comes fishing with me. my fishing back ground When I was young i got into fishing probably a little older than my son is now. I use to go occasionally with my grandfather (gramp) in used to float fish as he thought it would keep me interested and not get board waiting for the rod to bend over. oh he was 100% spot on as you get to know me i struggle with ADHD traits and focusing for long periods of time is not my strong point.  As I got older I started to go a bit on my own with friends, still float fish for little fish such as minnows, roach, dace, gudgeon and occasionally cat...

First sesson back after 16 years.

On Thursday 29th August, I took my 4 year old son fishing for the first time. It was also my first session in 16 years. I chose to go on my local club water ls in Chippenham. It is know as section 2. I started off in 1 swim with my boy. He was very excited when on his 2nd cast he caught a little chub. I spent the next few hours with just a few knocks on the end of my rod. As he kept reminding me that he a had caught a fish and I was yet to do so. A few hours of passed with only a few knocks on the rod he decided he had enough and wanted to go home. I was determined not to blank on my first session back so I called my wife to come and collect him. I then moved a bit further upstream where I was into a fish on my 3rd or 4th cast. Unfortunately ended up losing it in the weeds. This happened a few more times and then I had 1 pull the hook.
