Pockeridge bottom lake round 2: battle of the bigger baits. 06/10/2024

  After a really enjoying trip last time around, i wanted to catch some slighlty bigger fish. So a plan was hatch, the bait was bought and he trip was planned. After such a goo session last time around catchig the roach, it thought i would target the Tench and Carp that the lake also holds. The sessin started with me picking a diffrent Peg this time around but still close to that infamous island. with a bit of pre baiting I stared this session using a method feeder and a pellet on a hair rig. using a ground mix with smaller pellets, hemp, corn and halibut liquid additive. Probably close to 50 minutes before any reall action of the session, it was just a few line bites. But that was good enough to know that there was fish in the swim. As time went o i tought the pellet wasn't reall wotking so over the coures of the next couple of hours I tried a few diffrent baits, hookables, luncheon meat, corn and even chorizo. but all came up short with nothing more than  few knocks on the r...

this post is just a few weeks behind........ on Friday te 20th september, i made the short journey to what is my most local lke. Pockeridge lakes, I chose to fish on te bottom lake. this also belongs to Chippenhmam angaling club. day tickets are available for this lake. or you can fish it if you are a member of the Chippenham angling club. anyway enough of that, on to the sesssion. for me this session started just after lunchtime as i was wroking in the morning. Armed with my 3 pints of maggots (there is a chance of may have over estimated) it was a cloudy afternoon with thunderstorms forcasted but this was not going to discourage me from a afternoon at the lake.  The session started with a fellow angler warning me that it wasn't fishing great, as he said that my rod bent over and i started my session was off with a lovely small roach.
