Burbrook - for the first time ever

on Tuesday 29th october I traveled a short distance to burbrook lake, Bromham. this venue is only open to Chippenhmam angling club members. aft doing a bit of reaserach to what fish where in the lake. i was unsure what method and bat to use. So i took a few diffrent baits. i had worms, maggots, corn for hook baits and i had some ground bait spicy chilli hemp and pellets to make a ground bait up.

on arrival eventally, i went past the gate to the lake. i unloaded the car and went down to the lake. knowing pretty muh nothing about the lake i finally set on Peg 3.

After a little bit of pre baiting a few areas around the swim. i was set up and ready to cast. probaly 3 minute's ro tip wen i struck i was into a fish. not massive but a fish. i got it on the bank it was a small little perch. i quickly put it back.

as the session wen on and a few lin bites and maybe a knock or 2 on the rod tip, not much else was happening. but i did notice some small fishe moving and topping in te margin by me. so i  started to feed a few maggots every now and again where i noticed them. after doing this for about 20-30 minutes. i set up the whip. and dropped a float in to position. after missing a few bites ad i finally hooked into another fish, it was anotehr small pech. after catching another small perch using the same method. i wasup 3 perch.

i decided to go back on the feeder. this time around i decided to fish slightly further than i had been previously. after a few cast and it being a slow day anyway.  was just sat there enjoying the peace and quiet and watching the wildlife. my rod went fying neary going of the rod rest. i grabbed the rod and i was into a fish. it didnt feel hugh but it was putting up a fight. i had no idea what it was on teh end until i got a little look at it as it neared the net. it was a chub. after landing it and placeing it on the unhooking matt i realsied the hook had come out in the net. that was a bit of a relief on a slo day. i decided i would weigh the fish. it come in at 1lb 6oz not a bad size for an angler wh i nt dead set on hunting huh fish. but just enjoiys getting out and catching fish.

i know its not the bet picture. i feel i need to ge a tripod or have a personal photographer.

unfortunately this did end up being the last fish of the session. i was pretty chuffed with it i won't lie to you.

i was using 8lb mainline

4lb hooklink

swim feeder.

and the chub was caught using corn on a size 14 hook.

towrads the end of my session i was suorsied with my daughter joing me and she decied she anted ago on on the whip. she didnt catch anything. but i thnk she secretly enjoyed it.
